Welcome to De Anza's Massage Therapy ProgramFounded in 1992, De Anza College is the first community college in California to offer a state chancellor approved certificate and degree program in Massage Therapy. The curriculum is based upon a variety of techniques and current research. Our graduates will have career opportunities working with a variety of medical professionals to starting up sole-proprietorships.
De Anza's mission is to offer students:
De Anza offers a 25.5 unit (516 hour) Certificate of Achievement, a 44.5 unit (876 hour) Certificate of Achievement Advanced, and a 52 unit Associate in Arts degree (1020 hour). The Certificate of Achievement program takes about 5 quarters to complete, and the degree take about two years to complete. Classes are offered in the fall, winter, and spring quarters, with on-campus internships available in fall, winter, spring and summer sessions.
The projected cost for residents of California for the Certificate of Achievement is about $791 for tuition (at $31 per unit). This figure does not include books, other instructional materials, parking fees and additional quarterly campus fees. Financial aid is available for qualified students. Successful De Anza graduates will be prepared to apply to the California Massage Therapy Council for certification. Additional details are available at: www.camtc.org.
De Anza College is a School member of The American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB). Graduates of the De Anza Massage Therapy Program qualify for AMTA professional membership. Our classes are approved for continuing education for nurses.
