Overview

Welcome to Counseling and Academic Advising. Our mission is to facilitate student success by offering quality services that promote educational, career and personal development.

Our counselors and academic advisors can assist students in planning to earn career certificates and associate degrees and/or for transfer to four-year universities.

For All New Students

IMPORTANT: All steps must be completed by Nov. 17 to receive priority enrollment for winter.

Step 1 Apply! Do this as early as possible, even if you think you may attend another school. Keep all your options open, and keep your priority registration if you choose De Anza.

Step 2 Declare a major on your application – not "Undecided."

 

Step 3 Select a goal of transfer, degree or certificate.

Step 4 Take placement tests.

 

Step 5 Complete orientation.

 

Step 6 Officially choose your classes. (You'll learn how at orientation.) This is your educational plan for fall.

Step 7 Enroll in – and maintain – 12+ units (full-time status) in order to get the best registration date for winter.
