Enrique

Hey everyone, my name is Enrique Samaguey and I am a Sophomore at De Anza College majoring in Psychology. I am a first-generation student who loves to help my fellow classmates, school, and community in any way I can. With a degree in Psychology, I hope to breakdown the current barriers that exist within Latinx cultures regarding mental health and emotions. I am looking forward to creating a safe space for all and contributing to the success of mi gente.

 Public Relations Coordinator

MayraHello my name is Mayra and I am a first generation student, and with my degree, I hope to learn more about the health disparities that intersected with economic and social issues surrounding the immigrant community. I am honored to be part of the HEFAS team and be able to support the needs of the community.

Member Coordinator

ChristinaHi! My name is Christina. I may seem shy at first, but once you get to know me, you’ll see that I like to bring others joy and that I’m a giving person. If I’m not seen with my friends and family, then I am most likely learning a new language! I hope to make a difference in our community and the world, especially surrounding immigration, gender justice, racial justice, and environmentalism. Being a child of immigrant parents has fueled my interests in immigration and I am passionate about racial and gender justice as an Asian-American woman. Additionally, when I’m free, I love doing art, specifically digital illustrations, painting, and photography!
