Registration Assistance

Join us at PE-13 to receive assistance with registration. Students who are unable to complete the steps to registration on their own should attend registration week during the priority registration period.

APE staff will help you do the following:

  • View the class listing and make note of your APE classes
  • Sign the petition to course repetitions form
  • Sign the add form and if applicable, assign an add code
  • Submit registration documents to be manually processed for successful enrollment

Petition for Course Repetitions Form

The APE Petition for Course Repetitions Form is used as a request to repeat a course subject. For example, a student with a verified disability enrolled in a special class may request to repeat the class listed as a PEA course. Repeatability is approved for students who are in good academic standing and an additional repetition of the course is needed because it is essential to completing preparation for enollment into other regular or special classes. The approval is only for the quarter and year listed on the form. The form cannot be used to enroll a student in a class!

Add Form

The APE Add Form is prepared as an accommodation to add a student in a class.

For example:

  1. A student is experiencing difficulty with adding themselves in a class by using the Student Registration App

Add Codes

The add code is a unique alphanumeric 6-digit code that is good for a specific class and assigned to one student. For example: 5T70J2

  • Add Codes become available once the quarter start
  • Contact the instructor or ape@deanza.edu for an add code
  • The add code can be activated once the class starts 

Drop Form

The APE Drop Form is prepared as an accommodation to drop a student from a class.

For example:

  1. A student is experiencing difficulty with dropping themselves from a class by using the Student Registration App

How to Get on the Waitlist

Use your web browser to go to https://myportal.fhda.edu.

  • Log in to your MyPortal account
  • Open the Apps section
  • Click on the tile for Student Registration
  • Use the new version and click the top link of the Registration Tools
  • Click Register for Classes
  • Select Term
  • Click the tab to Enter CRNs
  • Enter the 5-digit CRN
  • Click Add button, the class will be dded to your Summary
  • Use the Action dropdown menu and select Waitlisted, then click the Submit button

You should see the status change to green, showing that you are now on the waitlist for that class.

Once you're on the waitlist, the registration system will monitor the class for openings and, if a seat becomes available, the system will automatically add students in the order they are listed on the waitlist. If you are added, you will be notified by email.

How Can I Add the Class?
Students can contact APE staff at ape@deanza.edu. The add request form can be setup using Adobe sign for students to sign and get instructor approval. APE staff will then manually enroll the student in the class.

How to Get on the Waitlist with and Add Code

Use your web browser to go to https://myportal.fhda.edu.

  • Log in to your MyPortal account
  • Open the Apps section
  • Click on the tile for Student Registration
  • Use the new version and click the top link of the Registration Tools
  • Click Register for Classes
  • Select Term
  • Click the tab to Enter CRNs
  • Enter CRN
  • Click Add button, the class will be dded to your Summary
  • Use the Action dropdown menu and select Waitlisted, then click the Submit button

You’ll see a box pop up with the heading: Enter Your Authorization Code. This is where you type in the six-digit Add Code, and then click on Confirm.

Complete the process. Remember that you still need to click the Submit button in the lower right corner of the Summary box.

How Do I Get the Add Code and Add the Class?
Students can request an add code from the instructor or by contacting APE staff at ape@deanza.edu.
