Faculty Profile - Biography Examples

The following are examples of short biographies for your Faculty Profile web page.


Concentration in Organismal, Conservation and Ecology. Research Interests: Mammals, Behavior and Conservation Ecology. Current Project Interests: Multimedia naturalism: An effort to educate and inspire others about the goals of conservation and sustainability.

I am a part time instructor in the Biology Department at De Anza College. Before teaching here, I worked as a molecular biologist at Stanford University and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Honduras, Central America, doing health and nutrition education.


I'm a Political Science and Inter-Cultural Studies instructor, and assistant director of the Asian Pacific American Leadership Institute at De Anza. My main focus is on student success and empowerment at De Anza and in our community, so please utilize me as a resource!

I am a second-generation Vietnamese-American born and raised here in the Bay Area. I enjoy spending time with my wife Linda and our daughter Tessa. I also enjoy fishing, running, fantasy sports and I am a huge fan of the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team.

I look forward to meeting you in my course and to partner with you for academic success.


I earned my undergraduate degree in environmental design from Bezalel: the Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, and my graduate degree in art history from San Jose State University, California. I have had teaching experience in various institutions and across different ages and topics. In addition I am an independent lecturer and curator of Contemporary Art.


I have been teaching English, both in the USA and abroad, since 2002. I love teaching ESL because of the opportunities to meet and interact with students from various origins, fields and cultures.

As a teacher, I am also a student. I learn from each of my students, just as they learn from me. I love learning, whether in a classroom or out in the real world. My dream job would be to be a full-time student forever. Being a teacher is the closest I have come to it.
