Transfer Admission Agreement / Guarantee (TAA/TAG)
A Transfer Admission Agreement (TAA) or Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG), is a contractual agreement that provides De Anza College students guaranteed admission to a participating California State University, University of California, independent or out-of-state institution.
A TAA may not be available for all majors, impacted programs, and colleges or schools at a participating TAA college or university. Students who write a TAA must satisfy specified course and admission requirements in a timely manner in order to be guaranteed admission to the participating four-year institution. Students interested in submitting a TAA are encouraged to meet with a De Anza College counselor, academic adviser or four-year university representative to review TAA eligibility and requirements.
When a counselor's signature is required to submit a TAA students must schedule an appointment in the Counseling & Advising Center prior to the close of the TAA filing period. Students are advised to schedule as early as possible as counselor appointment times may be limited.
Currently, the following universities require a De Anza College counselor's signature as part of the TAA submission process: CSU Monterey Bay , The National Hispanic University, and the University of the Pacific. Participating schools that do not require a counselor's signature include: Cogswell Polytechnical College and Kettering University.
Community college transfer students may submit only one TAG to the University of California and must meet campus-specific admission and TAG requirements to be eligible. See the matrix and links below for more information about UC TAGs.
Students are advised to consult with a De Anza College counselor or academic adviser as early as possible to confirm your choice of classes and to develop an education plan for transfer.
Students interested in completing a TAA/TAG should review the specific eligibility requirements, terms and conditions, restrictions, and deadlines for each prospective TAA college or university (see links below).
The names of participating campuses at De Anza College, minimum grade point average, minimum number of units, and TAA contract filing periods are posted below.
¹ Cogswell Polytechnical College: Only courses with "C" grades or high may apply to the minimum 12 units, but all CSU transferable coursework will be calculated towards the GPA.
2 GPA requirements vary by major and/or college within the university and are subject to change. Supplemental information is available on the respective TAA brochure.
3 TAA admission to Winter and Spring terms are subject to change without notice. Visit the De Anza College Transfer Planning Web site for updated information.

Students are encouraged to meet as early as possible and periodically with a counselor or academic adviser both at De Anza College and at the transfer institution to confirm your choice of classes and to develop an education plan for transfer.
