Math Sequence for Associate Degrees, Most Certificates and Undecided

Check assist.org to verify your major and IGETC requirements for transfer. If you have any advanced placement (AP) scores of 3 or higher in Statistics or Calculus you may not need to enroll in additional math courses. To verify, visit the PSME Division.

Math 210 Prealgebra – course is not required and does not transfer; good option for Design & Manufacturing Technology students that have not learned prealgebra or need to review basic math and geometry skills.

Math 212 Elementary Algebra – course is not required and does not transfer;

Math 114 Intermediate Algebra – may be required as a prerequisite for certain classes and does not transfer; good option if you only completed beginning algebra and need precalculus I or explore Math 231 and 31.

Math 10 Statistics1 or Math 31 Precalculus I– recommended; if you passed the AP Statistics Exam with a score of 3 or better, see CSU AP link and UC AP link.

Note 1: Math 10 Statistics is recommended for undecided transfers and AA/AS/Cert students considering a non-business or non-STEM* major for transfer.
