Students can borrow specialized equipment essential
to access course requirements. Since loans are
made for a temporary period, students are encouraged
to purchase their own equipment when possible.
The following specialized equipment is available:
cassette tape recorders
4-track tape players
portable closed circuit print enlargers
assistive listening devices
manual wheelchair
electric scooter
The state of California has a program to loan
BrailleNote equipment which De Anza can participate
in on an as needed basis. See your DSS counselor.
Steps to follow to borrow
equipment:
1. See your counselor/advisor
2. Sign an Equipment Loan form.
Policy
Policies for borrowing equipment vary
depending on the type of equipment borrowed.
The Loan form will specify the return date
and the policies for borrowing equipment.
If a student fails to follow the policies
future borrowing maybe affected or college records
held.
You may be asked to replace damaged or
lost equipment.
Lockers
Lockers are located in the Seminar Building and
may be used for a quarter at a time.
Steps to receive a locker
assignment:
1. See your DSS counselor.
2. Choose an empty locker and inform the
DSS Secretary in Seminar 2A of the locker number.
3. Provide your own lock.
