Watch Out for Seemingly Cheaper Textbook Deals!

If you plan to buy a USED book:

  • Make sure it’s a 4thed (2012) that comes with an un-activated Supersite code, OR
  • Purchase an un-activated Supersite code separately from another student who may have an extra one.
  • Otherwise, purchase a Supersite code from the publisher. This will cost you way more than if you bought a new book, since all new copies of the book come with a Supersite code.  The “stand-alone” Supersite code is valid for 36 months, and it can only be bought from the website listed below.  The ISBN for the Supersite passcode is 978-1-60576-933-2

De Anza no longer uses the 3rd edition of Vistas (2008).  If you own this edition or plan to buy a copy, you’re responsible for:

  • Keeping track of the differences between the two editions, which are not limited to page numbering discrepancies, but also involve updates in content as well as completely new versions of existing sections, or new sections altogether (e.g., Panorama Cultural, Fotonovela)
  • Acquiring a 4th Editon Supersite code, as the exercises in the two versions are significantly different and you won’t be able to submit work online unless you’re enrolled in your instructor’s 4thed Supersite roster.
