Prerequisites:

(Not open to students who have completed Biology 6A, 6B or 6C, or equivalent; or Biology 40A, 40B or 40C, or equivalent.) (See general education pages for the requirement this course meets.) Advisory: English Writing 211 and Reading 211 (or Language Arts 211), or English as a Second Language 272 and 273.

Course Description:

A general introduction to biology and its principles, emphasizing the biology of humans. The course will cover the unifying principles of biology, with emphasis on the basic anatomy and physiology of the human body, as well as on contemporary health issues and their impacts on cultural, ethnic and gender groups.
