FIELD TRIP SHOWS AT THE FUJITSU PLANETARIUM
The Planetarium’ s renovation in now complete! We have installed the Infinium S star projector, which allows you to enjoy the night sky as never before. A new inner dome, seating, interiors and Full Dome Digital Projection system are also part of our new Planetarium. We are all very excited and looking forward to seeing you here!
FIELD TRIP DATES FOR 2007 – 2008 SCHOOL YEAR
October 16, 2007 to July 18, 2008
Planetarium is closed for school field trips during college astronomy classes, school observed holidays, Saturdays and Sundays.
TO MAKE A RESERVATION FOR YOUR SCHOOL OR GROUP
Planetarium Office hours are Tuesday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
To set up your field trip, call the planetarium office at (408) 864 8814 and have the following information ready:
- A date and time you would like to visit the Planetarium have alternative days and times in mind since we are continually taking reservations and some of your dates and times may have already been taken by other groups.
- Number of seats to be reserved for all children and adults attending in your group. The Planetarium seating capacity is 140.
- The name of the show you would like your group to view (see below for show descriptions and grade levels, we can help you choose the show if you are unsure of what to pick).
- Your contact information: name and phone number of teacher, school’s name and mailing address.

Make reservations at least two months in advance to ensure date and seating availability. Be patient, the planetarium serves approximately 25,000+ visitors every year and sometimes it is not possible to accommodate every school or group on their preferred date and time. Once your school or group has a date and time reserved in our calendar, a written confirmation will be mailed.
FIELD TRIP ASTRONOMY SHOW TIMES
The show times below are starting times. Shows are approximately one hour in length. All groups attending require a reservation and must check-in at least 10 minutes before show time to pay admission fees. Groups arriving more than 5 minutes late may not be admitted into show if interior lights have been dimmed down. Show times and days may be subject to change.

FIELD TRIP ADMISSION FEE
General Admission is $4.50 (child or adult) - Full payment is due the day of the show, we accept credit cards (visa, mastercard and discover) cash, school or personal checks payable to: De Anza College Planetarium (if paying by personal check a valid ID must be presented)
FIELD TRIP GENERAL INFORMATION
Please Note:
Your group will be entering a Community College Campus environment and must be respectful of their surroundings. We ask that students not talk, yell loudly or horse around while they are on campus and classes are in session – we greatly appreciate your cooperation, thank you.
Parking:
School bus drop off area is located by the Science Center Building next to parking lot E. Busses should park across the street behind the Oaks shopping center. If you are arriving by car, please park in Lot C Structure. All cars require a parking permit, which can be obtained from yellow permit machines located on all lots. Permits cost $2.00 and are valid for the entire day.
Confirmations:
Once your reservation is on the calendar, a written confirmation, general information and campus map will be mailed to the contact person.
Eating Areas:
Your group is welcome to eat their snacks or lunch on any grassy area around campus, the cement quad located next to the Planetarium building or across the street at Memorial Park; however there is no eating, drinking or gum chewing permitted inside the Planetarium Facility.
