Fujitsu Planetarium Rental Information and Fees

The Fujitsu Planetarium at De Anza College is one of the largest school planetariums in the country. It can provide you with a unique and unusual setting for a birthday party, wedding ceremony, anniversary celebration, holiday gathering, corporate sales presentation or meeting.

Frequently asked questions regarding renting the Planetarium.

Little Dipper Party $395

Includes: private use of Planetarium Facility for up to 140 people to view one Full Dome Digital Astronomy show of your choice and tour of the night sky (Use time allows for guests to arrive and view show, no table or chair set up in lobby, no food or beverage allowed. You may choose a Laser show instead of an astronomy show for an additional fee of $200)

Big Dipper Party $495

Includes: private use of Planetarium Facility for up to 60 people to view one Full Dome Digital Astronomy show of your choice and tour of the night sky plus lobby use and set up of five tables and 30 chairs - Party host is responsible for food, cake, beverages, decorations and some clean up (Use time is 3 hours and allows for guests to arrive, view show and have cake, food and beverages and some clean up. You may choose a Laser show instead of an astronomy show for an additional fee of $200)

Wedding & Anniversary Celebration
$445 per hr/3 hr minimum
Includes:
private use of Planetarium Facility for ceremony and/or reception (up to 140 people), lobby area table set-up for buffet and non-alcoholic beverage service. Planetarium auditorium can seat up to 130 people. Lobby set up consists of up to 3 tables for food. Party host is responsible for food, beverages, decorations and some clean up, if event is catered a licensed catered must be used.

Corporate Group Gathering
$445 per hr/3 hr minimum

Includes:
Private use of Planetarium Facility
One Full Dome Digital Astronomy Show of your choice and tour of the night sky, use of A/V equipment for presentation, lobby area table set-up for buffet and/or non-alcoholic beverage service (client must provide materials for meeting or presentation, food and non-alcoholic beverages and must meet with Director at least a week in advance)
Rules and Regulations
No Alcohol allowed at De Anza College Campus and Planetarium Facility. Smoking allowed on designated areas only.

Deposits and Fees
A deposit of 50% of the rental fee is required to reserve the Planetarium; and will be applied towards your rental fee. An additional $100.00 refundable cleaning deposit is required and refunded within two weeks after event. Deposit will not be refunded should facility be left in an unsanitary or damaged condition.

In order to receive your deposit back in the event of a cancellation, you must notify the Planetarium staff at least seven business days in advance. We will accept notification in writing by email,

Parking
The De Anza College Campus Safety and Security department requires that all cars parked on campus display a proper parking permit. You may purchase these permits the day of your event from the yellow parking machines located on all student lots. The cost is $3.00 per permit – machines accept credit cards, coins or dollar bills.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to other events scheduled on campus such as Flea Market Day (which takes place the first Saturday of every month) permit fees will vary and parking spaces may be limited.

De Anza College Campus Rules and Regulations: No Alcohol allowed anywhere on campus and at Planetarium Facility. Smoking allowed on designated areas only.
