John P. Maruoka, who
has taught at De Anza College since 1987, considers himself a "traditionalist"
in silver-based photography, but has also experimented widely
and produced works for exhibition using a digital darkroom.
Maruoka finds that photography is a field that offers a perfect
blend of art and technology, and has made photographs both as
fine art and to be used commercially. Maruoka received
a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photographic Illustration
from Rochester Institute of Technology.
