  • Diane Pierce

    Coordinator of the digital photo program, Diane has taught both traditional and digital forms of photography at De Anza College since 1997. She has taught beginning, intermediate and advance courses in black and white photography, experimental and non-traditional photographic methods, history of photography, and most recently digital imaging. Her work and teaching are inspired by contemporary issues which cross boundaries in a variety of mediums. An active member of the photographic community, Pierce has exhibited her work widely, and is represented in the collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Bibliotheque National in Paris, and the de Saisset Museum at Santa Clara University. She received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Mills College in Oakland.
  • Wilfredo Q. Castaño

    The program coordinator, Wilfredo has taught photography at De Anza since 1989. He regularly teaches courses in intermediate and advanced black and white photography as well as beginning and advanced color photography. Castaño's photographs have been exhibited at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Berkeley Art Museum, the University of Erlangen (Germany), and additional galleries throughout the United States and abroad. He has published his work widely in periodicals such as McCalls, Town and Country, Gentleman's Quarterly, and San Francisco Focus; and his work has been reviewed in periodicals such as Artweek, Popular Photography, and Modern Photography. Castaño holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute and a Master of Arts degree in English from San Francisco State University.
