A Message from your Instructor
Welcome to LIB 51, Business Resources on the World Wide Web.

Please note: there is no lab for this class.

Please note: there is no on campus orientation or meeting for this class.

Your instructor's name is Pauline Yeckley (that's me!) I am a librarian at De Anza College. Our class website shows information about assignments, the final exam, and due dates.

  • Log on to the Catalyst site and look for our class, LIB 51.

  • After you find our class site, scroll all the way up and down.

  • Notice that there are four assignments and a final.

  • Look and read the section: Grading, Assignment Due Dates, and Final Exam Notes

  • Students who have not completed Assignments #1 and #2 by Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014 will be dropped from this class.

  • All course work, including the final must be completed by Thursday of finals week, otherwise, the student will receive an F for the class.

  • Enough about assignments and grades! I hope you enjoy this course, and please contact me whenever you have questions.

    Be prepared to spend a minimum of 1-2 hours per week using and studying the course materials.
    How to get started in your course
    Getting Started:
  • Make sure you have your own e-mail address and access to the Internet.

  • Send me a short e-mail introducing yourself. I will send a reply. That way we can test our e- mail connection.

  • Locate our class on the Distance Learning Catalyst website.

  • Look around our class website. Practice using the links.

  • Begin working on Assignment #1.

  • At the end of each assignment, there are instructions for submitting your answers. The assignments are submitted through the course Catalyst program. After an assignment is submitted, I will read and grade the assignment. I will also provide a feedback note for each assignment.
