At De Anza

Annual Trip to Ashland Shakespeare Festival Planned for Spring Quarter 2008

English Literature 97: Shakespeare in Performance

Each year De Anza College sponsors a trip to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon. It's a fun excursion for those who love live theatre, cheerful company and stimulating discussion. The total cost for the trip is approximately $600.

This year's trip is scheduled for the weekend of June 27-29 and includes the following:

  • Bus transportation there and back again
  • Double room in the Southern Oregon University dorms
  • Breakfast and dinner in the Cascade Cafeteria
  • Member-quality tickets to four plays
  • Four pre-trip class sessions (ELIT-097.-61: Meets 4/16, 5/14, 6/11, 6/25, and 6/27-29)
  • Two morning-after play discussions
  • Optional backstage tour
  • "Actor's talk" with a leading member of the OSF company

We have reserved tickets for the following plays:

Friday, June 27: Our Town, 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, June 28: Fences, 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, June 28: Coriolanus, 8:30 p.m.
Sunday, June 29: A Midsummer Night's Dream, 2:00 p.m.

The group is limited to 40 participants, who will be enrolled by the professor on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you are not contacted with a confirmation within two days, please leave a voice mail message at 408.864.8623.
