A Green Building for Our Green CommunityThe Media & Learning Center (MLC) — our newest green building on the De Anza campus — provides flexible general purpose classrooms and labs for instructional space, with academic capacity for anthropology, sociology and world languages.
The building also houses offices for Distance Learning, Staff and Organizational Development, and the Technology Resources Group, including our broadcast media film and TV studio.
The MLC was designed to meet platinum rating based on Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards, the highest rating for an energy efficient, green building.
The MLC project was funded through the Measure C Bond Program.
Please check back to this website as we add more detailed information about the features of the building.
Also learn about the Kirsch Center for Environmental Studies, opened to students in September 2005. It was the first community college LEED platinum building in the nation, and serves as the lead demonstration building for energy innovation and sustainability in the California Community College system.
