Open Media Lab
The Open Media Lab
is located in the lower level
of Learning Center West.
This "open" lab is a place where
students
may come to
write papers, check their email, and search the Internet.
The work they do here does not have to be associated with
any particular class.
All students with a DASB card, who are enrolled at De Anza College
during the
current quarter may
use the Open Media Lab.
|
What kinds of computers and equipment are in the lab?
90 Windows PC computers and six Macintosh G4s, with Microsoft Office and web browsing
software, along with black and white or color printing options. There are DVD and VCR
players for in-house video viewing and CD/cassette player stations for in-house
audio listening.
|
What materials are available in the Open Media Lab?
Video and audio materials for Distance Learning courses.
|
Are there any fees associated with using
the Open Media Lab's services?
There are no service fees to check out
items or use the Media Lab
equipment.
Overdue fines may be charged if items
are not returned on time.
Black and white printing costs 10 cents per page
and color printing costs 75 cents per page.
|
Is this where I check out Distance Learning Materials?
Yes.
You will need your De Anza Associated Student
Body (DASB) card and the
current quarter's
Distance Learning card, available from the Distance
Learning
Center
on the first floor of LCWEST (room LCW 102).
It is
also a good idea to know the name of your class and your
instructor's
name before coming to the center.
