Voting

Each spring, a Classified Senate election committee is formed by direction of the outgoing Classified Senate President to elect officers and senators in sections where a senate term has
expired. 

Classified Professionals: Please consider serving on this vital shared governance committee. Current senators will be recruiting nominees for open positions. We need you!

POSITIONS OPEN FOR NOMINATION

Nominations due by Thursday, May 16, 2013. We encourage your participation if you have never been an officer or senator or it's been awhile since you served. You may nominate yourself.

• President (one-year term)
• President-Elect (one year term plus term as President following year)
• Secretary (one-year term)

Section 2 – Student & Community Services Building: Admissions & Records, Cashier
(two-year term)

Section 3 – Student & Community Services Building: Bookstore, Assessment Center, DSPS, Short Courses/Community Education (two-year term)

Section 9 – Kirsch Center, ESA, High Tech Center Training Unit (two-year term)

Section 10 – Science Center, Auto Tech, Child Development Center (two-year term)

Section 11 – S Quad, OTI, Outreach, E Buildings, Planetarium (two-year term)

Section 15 – Library, Student Success Center (two-year term)

Section 16 – Campus Center: Food Services, Campus Center Custodial, Health Services, Security

Section 17 – Campus Center: EOPS, Office of College Life, Flea Market, Student Accounts         

Section 18 – Administration Building

 

Process

• Election to a Classified Senate office shall be by simple majority of the votes cast.
• If no candidate receives a simple majority of the votes cast, a special election shall be held to decide between the two (2) candidates receiving the highest number of votes for that office.
• Announcement of the election results will be made within two (2) working days.
