Your Chance to Name the New Parking Structure

Be as creative as possible. There’s no limit to the number of names you can submit. The winner will receive public recognition, gift certificates and the honor of naming the parking structure.

Another building that received Measure E funding, the Kirsch Center for Environmental Studies, was named nearly five years ago. The Steven and Michele Kirsch Foundation awarded a $2-million grant to Foothill-De Anza to help fund the energy-efficient, climate-responsive building. In addition, more than a year ago the Cheeseman Environmental Study Area was named in honor of Doug Cheeseman, the founder of the ESA who taught biology and ecology at De Anza for 30 years.

These campus buildings were named for people connected to our history:

• Flint Center and the Flint Center Parking Structure in honor of Calvin C. Flint, the first superintendent of the Foothill College District.
• A. Robert DeHart Learning Center in honor of the college’s founding president.
• Marjorie L. Hinson Campus Center in honor of the first associate dean of Student Activities.
• Helen Euphrat Museum of Art named by E.F. Euphrat in honor of his wife. They owned and lived on the land where De Anza was built.
