Walter Alvarado, press operator for
Printing Services
Award criteria: In the nearly six years Alvarado has
been working at Printing Services, he has kept the facility orderly
and well maintained in a cheerful, fast and helpful manner. Printing
and copying are things faculty need frequently. Alvarado’s
first-rate technical knowledge keeps those services running smoothly,
which assists faculty in maintaining their high quality of instruction.
“Walter makes it work,” his nominator said.
Specifics: “The biggest challenge I thought I’d
have here at De Anza was getting to know the names of all the
people I’d be working with,” Alvarado said. “But
time has passed, and I know almost 95% of the people I work with
across the campus on a first-name basis. It’s been a pleasure
getting to that point, and it makes me feel that I work among
friends. Being rewarded for something you like to do is great.” |
