Staff Lot A Closes
Alternative Transportation Is Your Best Bet
Life
as we know it — or at least our commute to and from work —
will change considerably in late fall because of Measure E construction
and renovation. Our staff parking sticker will no longer guarantee a
convenient parking space on campus.
Consider leaving your car at home. Join a car pool, ride
the bus, walk to work or take the No Fuss Bus. The free shuttle service
begins operation Dec. 1 from Vallco Fashion Park and will run every
15 minutes from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Faculty and staff can guarantee themselves a parking
space in the Flint Center parking structure when they arrange a car
pool with at least one other person. Check out www.rides.org
or post a note on the car pool bulletin board in the hallway near the
Mail Room in the Administration Building.
Most of Staff Lot A will close for the construction of
the Student and Community Services Building although limited staff and
disabled parking will be available there. Parking Lot C will close Dec.
1 for the construction of a second parking structure on campus. Until
June 2004, staff and disabled parking will be available in Compact Lot
C with a limited amount of staff parking at the southern end of Lot
C.
There is some good news down the road. Once the new parking
structure is finished in about nine months, more parking spaces will
be available than ever before.

need to purchase a $5 admission ticket in advance. You’ll receive
a lot for your money: turkey with all the trimmings and a chance to

The Wednesday luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Conference
Rooms A and B. It will feature staff entertainment, singing and fun.
Vegetarian meals will be available that day.
Faculty and staff must be present to win door prizes
from these sponsors. Here is a sampling of what you can win:
- Two luxury club seats for a San Jose Sharks game valued at $186
(Southwest Airlines)

News)

of the party, you’ll have the chance to donate cash and/or canned
food at the door for Cupertino Community Services, Second Harvest and
other needy organizations.
