US Central American Counter Narratives Challenging Epistemic Violence
Join us for a talk by Dr. Karina Alma of UCLA on U.S. Central American Counter Narratives.

In her talk, Dr. Karina Alma challenges how Central America and Central Americans have been represented historically as a people and region devoid of knowledge and culture. Her talk centers U.S. Central American narratives, produced by several generations of Central American cultural makers, to address how these communities have been attempting to heal transnational cultural traumas and to challenge the epistemic violence that they face daily in this time of crisis.

This event is funded by the Student Equity Initiative and the Office of Equity, Social Justice and Multicultural Education.

This event is ADA accessible. Please contact us if you require special accommodations.
