Eligibility

EOPS Eligibility:

  • Be a California resident
  • Be enrolled in at least 12 units (limited exemptions for students with a verified disability)
  • Be eligible for the Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOG) A or B*. (07-08 online BOG application) (07-08 paper BOG application)
  • Have completed fewer than 105 quarter or 70 semester degree applicable units
  • Have an educational disadvantage as defined by the state EOPS guidelines, such as:
    - not qualified for freshmen level English or Math at De Anza
    - not graduated from high school
    - graduated from high school with less than a 2.5 g.p.a.
    - previously enrolled in remedial courses in English or Math
    - other factors (inquire in EOPS)

*BOG-B 2008-2009 Income Standards

CARE Eligibility:

  • Must meet EOPS eligibility
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have at least one child under the age of 14
  • Be single, head of household as determined by the county Welfare Department
  • Be receiving Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF, formerly AFDC)
