Helping Victims

American Red Cross disaster assistance is provided to people in need without charge. This is made possible by voluntary donations of time, money and blood from people like you. To help provide support after an emergency, contact the local chapter of the American Red Cross.

American Red Cross Santa Clara Valley Chapter
2731 North First St., San Jose CA 95134
(408) 577-1000

Contributions can be made through the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross.

You can volunteer your time. Volunteers and full-time staff services include disaster planning and preparedness, response to disaster victims, communication for military families, international tracing services, health and safety education and blood services. To schedule an appointment to donate blood, call (800) 448-3543, extension 4406. The blood you donate will help people who depend on blood every day for lifesaving transfusions.

FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) provides information about voluntary agencies accepting donations and what to do after a disaster.
