Welcome to LIB 51, Business Resources on the World Wide Web.

Please note: there is no lab for this class.

Please note: there is no on campus orientation or meeting for this class.

Your instructor's name is Pauline Yeckley (that's me!) I am a librarian at De Anza College. Our class website shows information about assignments, the final exam, and due dates.

  • Log on to the Catalyst site and look for our class, LIB 51.

  • After you find our class site, scroll all the way up and down.

  • Notice that there are four assignments and a final.

  • Look for and read the section:

  • Grading, Assignment Due Dates, and Final Exam Notes

  • Please note that I do not drop students. It is the responsibility of each student to either complete the work for this course or drop the class.

  • All four assignments and the final must be completed by Thursday of finals week, otherwise, the student will receive an F for the class.

  • Enough about assignments and grades! I hope you enjoy this course, and please contact me whenever you have questions.
  • Hours of Study
    Be prepared to spend a minimum of 1-2 hours per week using and studying the course materials.
    How to get started in your course
    Getting Started:
  • Make sure you have your own e-mail address and access to the Internet.

  • Send me a short e-mail introducing yourself. I will send a reply. That way we can test our e- mail connection.

  • Locate our class on the Distance Learning Catalyst website.

  • Here is a link: https://catalyst.deanza.edu/

  • Look around our class website. Practice using the links.

  • Begin working on Assignment #1.

  • Let me know if you have any questions or problems.

  • At the end of each assignment, look for the button Edit my Submission. Click on this button, and you will see an empty white box titled, Submission Box. Write your answers in this box. Answers should be brief. You may work on this assignment until it is due. At this time I will read your assignment and post your grade.

  • Use the same procedure for all four assignments and the final.
