Volunteer Training Schedule
Attendance to one volunteer training is required in order to volunteer on the day of the event.

We're also starting a mentoring program with some support from Public Allies. If you are interested in mentoring high school students for college prep and community engagement projects (starting Winter quarter), please participate as a CAN group leader, those who will facilitate discussion at the end of the conference around reflection on what high school participants have learned and identifying issues they might want to address at their high schools or communities. YVUC will be the launch for the mentoring program.

Are you looking for a great leadership opportunity? Ways to get involved in the community? Fulfill those service learning hours for a class? The Youth Voices United for Change conference planning committee is still looking for De Anza students to help out with the conference and youth mentoring program. We will have CAN (community action network) group discussions in the second part of the conference where two De Anza student will facilitate a dialogue with each high school group on the following:
If you are interested, please attend the CAN group training session tomorrow and next Wed. You do not have to attend both. We will train you on how to engage with high school students and facilitate a discussion. This is an important leadership role and we know you would be terrific, so we hope to see you soon!
