De Anza's Computer Information Systems Department.
De Anza's Computer Information Systems department has been a leading educational institution in Silicon Valley since the college was founded. Over the years it has developed a rich and diverse series of courses in many areas. It offers several programs to support the needs of students and professionals in Silicon Valley. These programs are divided into three broad areas:

Degrees and University Transfer Programs
General Degree Requirements
- A minimum of 90 quarter units of college credit, 24 of which must be earned at De Anza College including:
- all courses required in the major (a maximum of 22 quarter units from another college or university may be applied toward the major),
- General Education requirements for the A.A./A.S. degree
- A minimum 2.0 grade point average for all major courses, for all De Anza College course work, and overall transfer work and De Anza College work combined.

Certificates of Proficiency
General Requirements
- A minimum 2.0 grade point average for certificate course work.
- A maximum of 18 quarter units may be transferred from other institutions.
- Proficiency in mathematics and English as evidenced by placement tests or completion of Math 101 (or equivalent) and eligibility for English 1A or English as a Second Language 5.
