CD ESL logoClasses that support English language learners

Get English language support in the program “ESL for Child Development Programs.” A three class sequence of linked child development and ESL classes are offered each year. In the fall quarter, Introduction to Child Development Programs CD 50 is linked to ESL 150A. In the winter quarter, Child Development: The Early Years CD10G is linked to ESL 150B. In the spring quarter, Child, Home, and Community Interrelationships CD12 is linked to ESL 150C. Each ESL class provides language support and skill development to help English language learners succeed in the child development courses. You will receive:

  • strategies to help you understand the Child Development course content
  • confidence to continue in the Child Development Program
  • the combined experience of three great teachers

Why take the linked classes?

  • You need at least 18 quarter units of CD classes
  • You want to increase your chances of getting a better job
  • You want to get larger cash stipends from the CARES program
