Why Study Chemistry

Chemistry is the "scientific study of matter, its properties, and interactions with other matter and with energy".

Chemistry is essential for meeting our basic needs of food, clothing, shelter, health, energy, and clean air, water, and soil. Chemical technologies enrich our quality of life in numerous ways by providing new solutions to problems in health, materials, and energy usage. Thus, studying chemistry is useful in preparing us for the real world.
Getting Started

Always check course prerequisites when planning your schedule of classes. Plan well in advance to submit your prerequisite clearance request if you think you've already met the prerequisite requirement through another college.
