Workshops take place at the NOVA WIB Training Room, the Decathlon Club, or the STM Training Center. If there is a class that you need but is not offered at this time we want to hear from you. APRIL 2008

Blueprint Reading
April 7-8 - Monday & Tuesday

This two-day workshop provides a basic understanding of how to read blueprints and interpret specifications, with particular attention to symbols, terminology, legends, plan, section and elevation views, as well as the role of related construction specifications. Samples of electrical, mechanical, and architectural plans will be used in class.

GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
April 14-15 - Monday & Tuesday

This two-day workshop will cover the spectrum of GD&T including tolerancing tools, techniques and standards, the proper use, care, and mechanical inspection of various precision measuring instruments, and common measurement errors. ASME Y.14.5M Standard and GD&T Course Workbook provided.

Root Cause & Corrective Actions
April 24 - Thursday

Designed for employees at all levels who are involved in systemic process improvement and problem solving. Topics include specific guidelines for performing effective RCCAs, as well as associated problem solving and quality tools.

SPC (Statistical Process Control)
May 8 - Thursday

This hands-on workshop shows how SPC directly impacts customer satisfaction. Learn to: apply real-world data and implement statistics associated with SPC for both attributes and variables data; design and deploy SPC control charts and corrective action for controlling defects and yield; select and compute key process performance metrics; develop Out of Control Action Plans (OCAPs); measure process capability; and state roles and responsibilities for SPC.

Sexual Harassment Prevention
May 13 - Tuesday - 9:30 - 11:30 AM

Assembly Bill 1825 mandates employers with 50 or more employees provide sexual harassment training within six months of hiring and every two years for all supervisory personnel. This interesting and dynamic seminar will cover current California and Federal laws. Preventative measures, claimant rights, the investigation process, company liability, and the rights of the accused will be highlighted in the case studies.
