About De Anza Softball

The De Anza Women’s Softball Program has itself as one of the more competitive community college softball programs in Northern California. De Anza finished the 2005 season with an overall record of 14-17 and 9-10 in league, finishing just behind College of San Mateo and Ohlone College, which tied for 1st place.

Among the all-conference selections for 1st team were, Krista Gambrel (Fr), Rebecca Dayton (So) and Crystal Fisher (So). Second team all-conference included five De Anza student athletes, Rachel Webb (So), Michelle Desmet (Fr), Deserey Castillo (Fr), Amanda Tello (Fr) and Jessica Carroll (So). Dalene Heydon (So) received an honorable mention.

The Women’s Softball Program welcomes back the returning sophomores for the 2005-06 season, as well as the new recruits. It looks to be a promising season for De Anza, starting off with a new softball field. The program and the athletes would like to thank their fans and all those involved who supported them and followed them off campus this last season.

Fall classes will begin in September, and we encourage all experienced athletes to enroll. For more information please contact the coaches, Dennis or Stephanie. All prospective student athletes new to De Anza should contact a coach as soon as possible to receive proper enrollment and registration instructions.
