Special Programs

A steady stream of distinguished animation directors from Europe and Asia, retrospective film screenings and demonstrations of new technology occur at International Animators' Association (ASIFA) events held on campus and curated by De Anza animation faculty. These have made De Anza a creative forum for the Bay Area animation community and provide valuable contacts and unique enrichment experiences for De Anza production students.

De Anza faculty have brought gifted animators from England, France, Germany, Denmark, Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Russia, Italy, Holland, Canada, Japan, China, India and other countries to the Bay Area for screenings and demonstrations. Bay Area animation studios participating in special presentations or job fairs have included Industrial Light and Magic, Twitching Image, Pixar, Pacific Data Images/Dreamworks, Wild Brain, Broderbund and Colossal Pictures.
